It is our mission to develop cooperation,
understanding and coordination among the shippers, carriers and the
various trade and transportation organizations in the Long Beach/Los
Angeles Harbor area.
Our goal is to enlighten and educate our
members through exchange of ideas, discussions and analyses of
problems associated with our local community.
Our membership is comprised of all segments of
the Intermodal community: steamship lines, trucking companies,
warehousing companies, railroad companies, freight forwarders, custom
house brokers, insurance brokers, exporters, importers and several
other related industry groups.
We are a non-profit organization. The net proceeds
from all our events are donated to our
Harbor Transportation Club
Scholarship fund. The scholarship fund provides support to those
seeking a career in the transportation industry as it relates to global trade.
We are currently a major sponsor of the highly acclaimed Global
Logistics Specialists program at California State University at Long Beach.
In support of our educational endeavor, we
hold several social events throughout the year. Our "Annual
Harbor Transportation Club Harbor Cruise", held each September,
is acknowledged as one of the premier events in Southern California.
Our Officers Installation Gala, held in March and Annual Golf
Tournament, held in May, are also extremely popular events. - In
addition to our social events, we hold monthly meetings on current,
high profile issues impacting our membership. Again, the net proceeds
from all of our events are contributed to our Harbor Transportation
Club Scholarship Fund.
